MG MOTOR UK SELLS LANDMARK 15,000th MG3

WH Brand MG handed over the keys to the 15,000th UK MG3
MG3 originally launched in 2013 followed by a comprehensive facelift in September 2018
B-segment hatchback becoming increasingly popular and currently having its best ever year
The best-selling colours are Arctic White and Ruby Red

MG Motor UK is celebrating the sale of its 15,000th MG3. The landmark sale took place at WH Brand MG in Spalding, Lincolnshire, with Bethany Mason receiving the keys of her brand new MG3.

This milestone delivery comes off the back of a tremendous period of sustained growth for MG in the UK, driven in large part by the popularity of MG3, which saw the brand achieve its best-ever sales quarter in Q1 2019 along with new sales records in every month so far this year.

First launched in 2013 and facelifted in September 2018, the number of new MG3s hitting the road has steadily increased as the brand has built recognition in the UK. Now backed by MG’s famous 7 year warranty, MG3 is having its best year ever, thanks in part to the brand’s commitment to providing the best value-for-money cars in the UK.

Since the popular hatchback was comprehensively updated last year, Arctic White has become the most popular colour with 29% of sales, with Ruby Red taking second place. Laser Blue is now the third most popular colour with 24% of sales.

Demonstrating its popularity right across the UK, MG3 has been popular with customers in south Wales with Nathaniel MG, based in Bridgend and Cardiff, being the highest selling MG3 dealer to date. Meanwhile, in the south east, Maidstone MG is the second highest selling dealership, followed by WH Brand in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

Starting from £9,495 OTR, MG3 is available in three trim levels, Explore, Excite and Exclusive – all of which come with Bluetooth, six airbags and hill hold control as standard. The mid-range Excite adds an 8” colour touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, DAB radio and 16” diamond cut alloy wheels. Upgrading to the Exclusive specification gives customers sports seats, cruise control and a reversing camera with dynamic guide lines. As part of MGs exciting spring offers, buyers can benefit from PCP deposit contributions of up to £1,250, driving away from as little as £149 per month. Customers with cars over 7 years of age can save up to £2,500 on a new MG3 through the MG Swappage scheme.
